While the above methods are direct you can also create an Apple ID through iTunes.
Step1: In your device open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store.
In iTunes make sure that your resident country is selected correctly, if not then tap on the flag to update your current country.
On the upper left corner is the menu icon (three horizontal dots in the left corner). Tap the menu icon and select movies, tv shows or apps and iBooks( if it is supported in your iTunes version)
Step2: The store you select will open on your device.
In the store to find something that is free i.e a song, movie, book or any app. Once selected click the Get button next to it to start the installation. As you click a pop up will come asking you to sign in to your Apple ID. Among the options is an option to create an Apple ID, click on that.
Step3: You will see the online instructions for creating a new Apple ID, follow those instructions carefully. Once done click on the continue button.
Step4: On the next screen, you will get a user agreement.
Review the agreement and check the box which is at the bottom of the page and finally click on agree.
