Method 1: On iPhone or iPad

Step 1: Launch WhatsApp 

Firstly, you need to open WhatsApp on your iOS device. To do this, navigate to your phone menu where you will find an icon with a green background which also looks similar to the phone receiver. That’s WhatsApp, now tap on it to launch it.

Step 2: Tap Chats

Step 4: Search for a contact that you wish to find 

You can scroll down through the contact page in order to find the person with whom you want to start a conversation. If scrolling consumes much time, then you can simply write down that person’s name in the search area which is provided at the top of the mobile’s screen. If you want to invite someone who doesn’t use WhatsApp, you can do it with a few easy steps. All you need to do is scroll down to the bottom where you will find all the contacts who don’t use WhatsApp. Now, select the contact whom you want to invite.

You need to select how you would like to invite your friend on WhatsApp. At the bottom of the page, tap on Invite friends on WhatsApp, choose the method of invitation and select that you would like to add on WhatsApp. Tap has done at the bottom of the screen in order to complete the invitation.

Step 5: Select a contact 

Now, you need to select the contact by tapping the name of the person with whom you want to start a conversation. Once you tap on the person’s name, it will automatically open a chat window where you can place audio and video calls. Here, there is one thing that you cannot neglect that you will be able to find people who are already on your contact list. Otherwise, it is all useless. But, if you have a person’s contact number, then you can add that person on your contact list.

For Android Users 

Method 2: On Android devices

Step 1: Launch WhatsApp 

Once you have installed WhatsApp from Play Store, you need to open it on your mobile device. The icon has a green background and speech bubble which looks like a phone receiver icon. Now, follow the guidelines in order to register your phone number if you have already completed the logging process. Here, you won’t be able to use WhatsApp to find a contact which is not on your mobile device.

Step 2: Tap Chats 

As you have launched the WhatsApp, you need to tap on the Chats which is provided at the left-top of the screen. It will lead you to the Chats Page. If WhatsApp tends to open conversations, then you need to select “Back” button” which you can find at the top left corner of your device’s screen.

Step 3: Tap the “New Chat” Button. 

Now, you need to select “New Chat” button which is round in shape and green in colour with speech bubble-shaped icon. You would find this icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. Once you tap the “New Chat” button, it will automatically open list of contacts. Here, you will find the only contacts who use WhatsApp on their respective devices.

Step 4: Look for contact. 

From the contact list, you can scroll down through the page to find the person’s contact number with whom you want to start a chat. Another easy option is also available on WhatsApp to search the person with whom you want to start a conversation. All you need to do is write down that person’s name in the search area provided on WhatsApp.

If you cannot find the person on the contact list, you can invite them by sending them a WhatsApp invitation. To do this, scroll down to the bottom where you will find “Invite Friends on WhatsApp. Tap on “Invite Friends on WhatsApp and make a choice of how you would like to send the invitation. Thereafter, you need to select the contact whom you want to send the WhatsApp invitation. To finish the process, tap Done which is provided at the bottom of your mobile device’s screen.

Step 5: Select a Contact 

Now, you can choose the person’s contact from the contact list with whom you would like to make a video call, voice call or chat. Once you tap on the contact, it will automatically open a chat window where you can start your conversation. It is obligatory to have the person’s number saved on your mobile device, otherwise, you will not be able to find that person on WhatsApp. In addition to that, you can easily add a contact on your WhatsApp if you are aware of the person’s contact number.
