This latest version comes with few changes on the menu for email account setups such as the absence of Accounts option in the Mail settings or the Calendar or Contacts. These menu options are now placed in a new settings menu called Accounts & Passwords.

P.S: If you want to choose an email provider which is not on the list than on the other option. You will then get instructions to add your account manually.

Step3: After you have chosen the email provider type in your email address and password.

Step5: Select all the information from your email account that you want o save on your devices such as Contacts or Calendars.

Set Up Your Email Account Manually

As mentioned above if your email provider is not found on the list you are left with the option to manually set up your email account. To set up manually make sure that you know the email setting of your account.

Step1: Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts, then tap Add Account.

Step2: Tap Other, then tap Add Mail Account.

Step3: Enter your name, email address, password, and a description for your account.

Step4: Tap Next. Mail will try to find the email settings and finish your account setup. If Mail finds your email settings, tap Done to complete your account setup.

Note: Choose IMAP or POP for your new account. If you aren’t sure which one to choose, contact your email provider.

Steps to Change Email Settings on your iPhone

1. Add more Email Accounts on your iPhone

Step2: go to Accounts & Passwords, select Add Account.

Step3: Choose your email provider and then write down your account information such as 

email address, password, and other necessary details.

Step4: Press Next to continue.

Step5: Select the option to sync Contacts and Calendars, according to your preferences.

Step6: Tap Save to save the changes and complete the email account setup process.

Your new email account is now added and ready for use on your iPhone.

2. Set up Exchange ActiveSync Account on your iPhone

With iPhone you have the option to sync your content like emails, contacts, calendars notes and much more. So that you can operate all these stuffs with any device by sighing in with your account. To do so you need to set up Exchange ActiveSync on your iOS device. Here’s how it’s done, 

Step1: Open your setting app

Step2: Select Accounts & Passwords.

Step3: Click on Add Account.

Step4: From the option select Exchange.

Step5: Type your email address. Enter an account description so that you identify your account quick and easy. 

Step6: Connect to the Exchange server. You may opt to either Configure Manually or Sign In.

  • For Manual Configuration: You can set up an Exchange account by simple account details. Simply type your email password or just enter the additional server information.

  • For Sign In option: Your email ID will be sent to Microsoft to find your Exchange account information. You will be guided through a custom authentication workflow if your account uses multi-factor authentication. For further assistance, contact your Exchange Server administrator.

Step7: Sync your contents including Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and Notes.

Step8: Press Save when the sync is done.

Want to change your Exchange settings, Follow these sequence: Settings-> Accounts & Passwords-> then select your Exchange account.

Now do the necessary changes to your account information. You can also configure or set how often you want Mail to sync or change Advanced Settings as you would prefer.

3. Delete an Email Account on your iPhone

If you have set up multiple email accounts and don’t use some of it then why to waste your phone memory behind it. Removing or deleting an email account is also among the possible solutions to email issues like unable to send or receive emails for certain email account.

4. Change Mail Settings on the Automatic Deletion of Messages

Normally, Mail app deletes messages from the server one week after you delete them from your iPhone. This means that your messages are not actually deleted right away, so you still have time to download a copy of the messages for other email apps. To configure these settings, follow these steps:

Step1: Tap Settings from the Home screen.

Step2: Open mail and go to Account

Step3:  Choose the email account you want to configure.

Step4:  Select Advanced.

Step5:  Scroll down to the Deleted Messages section then tap Remove.
