Everyone should understand that bad and corrupt files won’t work in any kind of music player. Moreover, you will not be notified if there is an error or not, it simply does not play in the music player. This happens when you have downloaded media files from open source, and not from iTunes. Therefore, make sure that the purchased file is genuine and error-free.

Moreover, the file should play on other iOS devices too. Therefore, make sure that the media file is compatible with the iTunes library, and is playable in all other iOS devices. If not the case, then the error would be in the media file itself. Remove it, and download it again.
