iPhone GIFs: GIF is a Graphics Interchange Format. It is a file extension for an often animated raster graphics file. The second most common image format used on the World Wide Web after JPEG is GIF. It is owned by Unisys.

A GIF can go viral when it is used with the right content that is why it has become a powerful marketing tool. Whether you are using it for your blog, website or any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook and more) iPhone GIFs are very effective.

GIF comes with the file extension (.gif); it is basically an image file format that is animated by merging several other images or set of frames into a single file. Then this single file is encoded as Graphics Interchange Format known as GIF.

  1. Open Messages and compose a new message or open an existing message.
  2. Click on the (A icon) i.e. known as Apps, locates to the left of the text field.
  3. If “#” images do not pop up, click the icon with four bubbles located in the bottom left corner.
  4. Now, Click on “# images” to browse, search and select a GIF.

Now, a set of images appear on your screen from that popular GIFs, choose the one and send! You can also add text along GIF before sending it.

Third-Party iPhone GIFs Keyboards

If you want a wider variety of GIFs, there are two most popular options i.e. GIPHY and GIF keyboard. Both mentioned apps are free and easy to download and install. You can get it either through the App Store or within the iMessage App Store (the choice is yours).

iMessage App Store

In iMessage, click on App Store to browse and search the third-party apps that can be utilized within Message. In most cases, if you download an app through the iMessage App Store. Standalone app will also be downloaded and installed to your Home screen.

If you have iOS10 or later and have installed the third-party app for GIF keyboard after downloading it from the app store, then it will automatically appear in your iMessages.

But if you have an older version then need not to worry as you can add one of these keyboards through Messages by pressing Store Button (+icon) and type in the name of the keyboard that you want to add.

Once you add the keyboard in the iMessage app, then the main app for this keyboard will also be automatically downloaded and will appear on your Home screen.
