How to Fix MacBook Pro Touch Bar Unresponsive and Got Stuck Issue

There are some methods that can fix this issue and enable you to use Touch Bar on your Mac. Here are the ways:

1. Force Quit the Troubled App to Resolve Touch Bar Sound not Working Issue on Your MacBook

Sometimes your MacBook pro touch bar is not working due to an app. It is necessary to quit this app to fix the issue. Follow the below-given steps to force quit an app in MacBook:

  • You need to click on the Apple menu in the top right corner of the screen of your MacBook.
  • Then choose the Force Quit option and then select the app.tap force quit
  • You need to tap on Force Quit again to confirm your decision.
  • This force quit the app that causes the issue.

2. Refresh Touch Bar from Activity Monitor

The other method to fix this issue is to refresh the Touch Bar from Activity Monitor. This method also resolves the issue of the MacBook Pro touch bar keyboard backlight not working. Follow the below-given steps to refresh the Touch Bar from Activity Monitor.

  • You need to go to the Activity Monitor app available in Applications.
  • Then tap on Utilities.
  • And then you need to search the Touch Bar option and then choose it.
  • Then tap on the X button in the top left corner and then tap on Quit.

3. Refresh Touch Bar from Command Line

You can also refresh the Touch Bar using Command-Line on your MacBook. Refreshing Touch Bar clears the memory or the resources used by the Touch Bar. Follow the below-given steps to refresh the Touch Bar from Command Line on MacBook pro:

  • You need to open the Terminal app available within Applications and then click on Utilities.
  • Then enter the below-given command:

kill “Touch Bar agent

  • Then press the return key to kill and refresh Touch Bar.

4. Refresh Control Strip in Touch Bar

Another method to fix this issue is to refresh Control Strip available in the Touch Bar. You can find the Control Strip on the end of the Touch Bar on the right side. Follow the below-given steps to refresh the Control Strip:

  • You need to open the Terminal app available within Applications and then tap Utilities.open the Terminal app in mac
  • Then enter the below-given command:

kill all Control Strip

  • Then tap the return key to reopen the Control Strip.

Sometimes the Touch Bar works as usual but you face issues in the control panel. When you configure the icons or you view the empty spaces, the icons do not change.

These issues are related to the Touch Bar as the entire touch strip above the keyboard and the control panel & its part which is responsible for regulating system settings such as sound, brightness, music playback. You can type the command in the terminal if you cannot restart the entire Touch Bar but restart the process that is particularly responsible for the control panel.
